On Valentines day, I wrote a poem about aging and being alone - the ecstasy in both. Maybe next year, I'd write about something completely opposite. Beautiful poem.

I wanted to add that I understand the immediate instinct to recoil from love that looks like it is straight out of a romantic novel. But perhaps there is a need to open ourselves to its possibilities. Be childlike again. What’s the harm? :)

Some people do not know how to handle positive attention. They might have never learned it, or positive attention was combined with negative experiences in the past. That is where the ice climbing comes in.

Otherwise, yes, we should be open - but it is a skill and I want to break a lance for the people who struggle with that.
